Bernabeu to become a Mutua Madrid Open tennis court

In an unprecedented move, the Santiago Bernabéu stadium will host matches of the Mutua Madrid Open 2026, transforming one of football's most iconic venues into a world-class tennis arena.

The retractable roof of the Bernabéu will allow matches to be played in all weather conditions, while the stadium's capacity of over 80,000 spectators will create an atmosphere unlike anything seen before in professional tennis.

The collaboration between the Mutua Madrid Open and Real Madrid represents a groundbreaking partnership that brings together two of Spain's greatest sporting institutions.

"This is a historic moment for tennis and for Madrid," said tournament director Feliciano López. "The Bernabéu will provide our players and fans with an experience that has never been seen before in the sport."

Select matches during the tournament's second week will be held at the Bernabéu, while the Caja Mágica will continue to serve as the tournament's main venue.
